I'm Maria.

Being a Hoosier born and raised I have found myself drawn to sports because of the deep history in the state of Indiana. But as I grew older, I found myself branching away because as a player I never felt that I would get far. My reconnection to sports didn't happen until my junior year of high school when I was involved with my school's television station. For one of the shows, I was asked to make a sports package. I dreaded this assignment because my experiences proved there were not many stories to be told in sports. After producing that package, I proved my misconception to be wrong. I found myself appreciating the personal stories of players and looking into the rich histories of the teams. Finding my way back to sports has been the most rewarding experience and has defined my career because now I can't imagine myself anywhere else.
